Hi,

I'm currently using TWG 1.8.2 for my family images and have not found any ads. Maybe En Annan was testing an old version...
There was only a text that there is an extended version too but this was easy to remove.

I'm just wondering why En Annan is flaming here because I have only found the term "free php based gallery" which is exactly what it is.

Thanks for this very nice piece of sofware. It shows my images perfect and I especially like the navigation with the keyboard.

Best, Tom

@En Annan
If you would just properly read the first sentence if you open the gallery then you would see that the ad's are simple a demonstration how to include your own content - it's even explained how to do this!

There are no mandatory ad's like in adware (only an example how to include your own text) and even the smallest license does unlock the additional features of TWG. The open source version which is 100% free does not have any restriction except the Flash Uploader which is an separate product and is bundled with TWG. There are only some additional features available if you register.

And TWG is 100% open source. Only the bundled Flash Uploader is not and you still have the option to use the html uploader. So if you put all together you still have 99% open source. A trial version would have some limitations with the features you get while TWG has not! You can only get new features if you support this project.

And if you don't want to use Trialpay - don't - it's just one option.

If would be nice to have comments about the gallery and not about the license. This would really help other users to make a decision which gallery to choose.

@Micke: It is explained on the main page of the demo after installation.

Warning!
1) After installation you have to manually remove ads.

2) To get the uploader work for more than 3Mb (with is practically useless as one image nowadays is bigger than that) you have to "register".
In this case it means that you have to give up your mail adress to an advertisment company - you think. When you go on with the registration it shows that you must buy products to continue!!!

You drag the names of "open source" and "freeware" in the dirt - shame on you!

I was so close to recommend the product, but I never will.....

OK, so please tell us how to remove the ads in the bottom of the gallery.

If there's ads, it's not freeware, but ADWARE!

Is this would be removed, I would consider to continue my trying of the program as it seems to be a nice one.....

My strong recommendation!! I use tinywebgallery since 2 or 3 years and I really like it. It is easy to maintain and a very good user experience. Furthermore it runs on servers of low-cost-hosters, which ones was a reason for me to go for TWG.

TWG is nice as it comes. I think other galleries allow for more customization and theming, but I like TWG as it is.

It is not true you have ads in the open source version. Only few advanced features can not be used and the price for full version is really fair.

Thanks to JoomlaFlashUploader I was able to make my own file upload/download server for our company and customers. Very easy to use with Joomla even if you are a rookie at website building. A great product, great value for money !

Hi,

Both of the last 2 comments are not right. There are no mandatory ad's (only an example how to include your own text) and even the smallest license does unlock the additional features of TWG. The open source version which is 100% free does not have any restriction except the Flash Uploader which is an separate product and is bundled with TWG. And TWG is 100% open source. Only the bundled Flash Uploader is not. So if you put all together you still have 99% open source. A trial version would have some limitations with the features you get while TWG has not! You can only get new features if you support this project.

If would be nice to have comments about the gallery and not about the license. This would really help other users to make a decision which gallery to choose.

ItÃ…? a good solutoion BUT I don't like you MUST PAY for this software (or include ads in your site). Only the expensivest license type provides full software.

The best gallery for me I have found so far. I tried most of the galleries here and this one was easy to setup (only unzip) and the initial setup was already very good for me.
I especially like that you can configure almost everything that the focus is still in viewing the images. I'm using the free version which actually has 99% of the features but I think about registering to support this project. Thanks.

This would be good if it was not restricted as the open source solution. To get all features you need to register. While I am not adverse to paying for the added features I think that it needs to be clear that the open source free version is limited in features - as in it does NOT have 'ALL' the features.

A drag&drap web gallery with a touch of iPhone emotions: This product is simply ingenious. I tried nearly all of the other pix utils on opensourcecms, but nothing really satisfied me. What is convincing with Tinywebgallery is that it works without a database. Simply FTP the pictures to a new folder and voila the pix are there with thumbnails etc. Maybe it is missing this and that feature of Gallery2, but for the all day work it is just what everybody needs. And it is designed in an agile manner: while nearly all other galleries require heavy post installation configs and come with no test data at all, this one just copies to a server and it works with a number of predefined galleries. And the AJAX features are simply stunning. Watch the homepage for a better demo.
