It produces a never ending series of cron job related error messages arriving at your email account. In the forum they promised to correct this by april 2010. Too bad.

I have tried installing this script a couple of time and all it does it causes problems with my database to the point I had to contact my server provider. I have VPS so should have no problems.

Sadly I have been unable to use this now. Any reason why this is happening?

When I installed and tried to go to the index.php or install file it just conctinued loading a white page then eventually shows an error page.

Who can help me?
Campsite I installed the script but fail to activate or introduce a pattern. I tried to make a standard template or HTML I add a template but have not found anywhere that are steps that must be followed.

Campsite's installer final screen says something like:

Click the "Administrator" icon to start Campsite.

And there is only one icon which is the way to go to the admin panel, very easy.

After logging into admin interface, you can fix the "alias" error by creating a Publication and setting the proper alias for it (or editing existent alias if you installed the demo site during installation process).

After installing Campsite, there is a problem accessing the admin panel and the website. When you go to the url of your website it will say "the site alias has not been created as a publication. Please create a publication and use the current alias." I find it quite problematic that developers would create a software with no way to access the admin panel right off the back. Most CMS or web content publishing platforms take you to the admin panel right away without having to go through too many hoops.

The developers may want to go back and re-examine ways to make this software more installation friendly.

Douglas, thanks for answering. My concern is multi-domain capability. I did not check Campsite out myself, don't have the time. I remember however your site stating somewhere that this feature had been dropped and people should install one instance of the script on each site. I don't find this statement anymore. But that was the reason for my remark. If this is not the case (anymore) Campsite is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks again.

Barnie, we've just upgraded our server, so the response time should be quite a bit faster. As for your other comments, I don't think they're correct, as the search works on and it's also been an area of quite a bit of development in the 3.2.x releases. As for multi-domain capability, it's still there, too; you can create multiple "publications" on a single Campsite instance and assign individual URLs to them.
Apr 6 2009, 4:14 am is a very slow site, guess they are using campsite, search module doesnt work, multi-domain capability has been dropped for no reason given
