@Tim - Thanks for checking us out. I can't say for sure why the demo is not working, but these are not issues that anyone else has had once they've installed it. My best guess is that there is some sort of restrictions on the OpenSourceCMS server that prohibits certain files from being saved.

Being a flat file system, folder permissions are key. However, the install of GS should take of these for you...

Haven't tried installing it yet...I'm still playing with the demo. I can't seem to view any nested posts in the demo? How do you view them?

Also, I couldn't change the theme. It said the theme changed successfully, but when I refreshed, it was the same?

Sorry, maybe I'll be back once you get the bugs out.

I'm not an expert..but after installing and trying out 15 other non-sql cms I played with this the least amount of time and with the least amount of hassle.
I don't really programme or write scripts but managed to get somethng good looking up and running with 12+ pages for my use in under 20 minutes.
I'd have liked the side bar to be a bit more easy to use and the manual to be a bit longer and slight less techie but apart from that I really recommend this to all.

Wow... I just had to comment to get rid of off this negativity.

Yes, some things aren't perfect, but this is a new system. God forbid we "developers" have to hard code a menu that will never change. Heck, even if it does change then there is a contribution that fixes it.

As for me... I've already installed 2 websites with this setup. I created a 25 page website in 4 hours last night. Try doing that with Drupal or Wordpress. I used to be the biggest fan of WP and then I realized that it was just all fluff that I never needed, and was always having to shift it from it's main purpose.

Get Simple is meant for small business websites that don't require a blog. If you want flexibility, speed, and simple template integration, give it a shot.

issues:

-you currently can't change the color of the text, maybe needs new editor component

-new pages did not create, got file not found even though
chmod 777 was given to data and backup folders.

-only 2 themes

-sidebar text should be editable as a GUI page, currently you can only edit in HTML style
