See for yourselves in the demo (link above). Loggin and goto "Blocks position" and "Blocks". Check this out! Does that look difficult for you? - - - Smart and fast!!! - - - I guess several people will try this cms just because of this simplicity... Tests (on web) also clearifies that impresscms has more power to it compared to most other fast-to-learn cms's. New core is also much more efficient and faster.

After a slow period, ImpressCMS is going in the right direction: instead of adding loads of unfinished stuff, the 1.3 release focus is now on speed and size, with the 2.0 promising easier use.
My CMS of choice at the moment

Also to be known, since is XOOPS fork, with a lot of changes to the core - over 90% of the existing XOOPS modules not work with it, better go for XOOPS.

Intuitive ? Intuitive interface is Rocket Theme Mission Control for J!, that's intuitive interface. Not adding Find Users as standalone task, or Edit Users as another standalone task, while in the same time there is User Management. Thanks, but no thanks for such intuitive interface.

Smartest ? Are u messing SMARTY templates here ? Using SMARTY by one or another core not make it smart.

Where is the flexibility with 5 modules only ? Try to create Community site with Downloads, Forum, Tracker, Links, Static and Dynamic content... - mission impossible.

And every ICMS site looks like every XOOPS site.
Try the support (when u occur error), u will be amazed how "good" are they.

__ ImpressCMS, perhaps THE SMARTEST cms around. INTUITIVE, FLEXIBLE and POWERFUL. Okey, maybe you should choose another cms if you are making a travel and ticket service system for a multi billion company. To start there is only 2 things to know. #1) Modules make up new pages on your site. That's basic, but can easily be changed if preferred. #2) Installed module gives (automaticly) new functions in the blocks list where you position each function with easy menues (page and position) in your own style. Understand #1 & #2 and DO IT! The modules can be blogs, news, forums, calendars, galleries etc. etc. ImpressCMS run on any server with PHP5.2+ It's very EASY TO INSTALL. ... new stable version is 1.2.3

I made the last years all my websites with IMPRESSCMS. it´s really easier, beter, faster, stronger then any other CMS. Best thing are the speed-instalation (4 min.) the new modules and the simple way to give a theme a new "face".

ImpressCMS moves strongly forward. Swift, stable and probably the most intuitive of all cms around. Most promising also 2009 [packtpub]. ...being also very powerful it's a cms to go for now.

Or what do you say about the projects new education course for new module developers!? (http://community.impresscms.org/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=440&com_id=2187&com_rootid=2187&#comment2187) Amazing! Join the project or just use it!

ImpressCMS is a state of the art easy to understand open source cms. Easily installed modules functions (blocks) is placed on your website via an easy to "see" positioning system. Nice performance too. Rated "most promising 2008", a broad range of modules (~30+ actively updated) and 200+ themes (all open Source) since it is a fork of the old Xoops project. ImpressCMS is a driving fork and some of the heaviest core developers has moved into it. ImpressCMS has 20+ active developers and an intelligent roadmap for planned development. ImpressCMS uses php and mySQL (most common) and can be installed in ~10-30 minutes, also for newbies. Very swift actually. At the moment 1.1.2 final and 1.2 on it's way (alpha). Go get it now!

There isn't any documentation on how to add content and work with this system. Installation and administration is only a very small part of any website. CONTENT is what every website is all about.

I did like the simplicity.
