WordPress Description

WordPress was born out of a desire for an elegant, well-architectured personal publishing system built on PHP and MySQL and licensed under the GPL. It is the official successor of b2/cafelog. WordPress is fresh software, but its roots and development go back to 2001. It is a mature and stable product. We hope by focusing on web standards and user experience we can create a tool different from anything else out there.

WordPress is a powerful content management system, and it comes with a great set of features designed to make your experience as a publisher on the Internet as easy, pleasant and appealing as possible. We are proud to offer you a freely distributed, standards-compliant, fast, light and free personal publishing platform, with sensible default settings and features, and an extremely customizable core.

It has taken me 4 full working days and I still can't get Wordpress working on my site. Even though there is not traffic, it has crashed my server. It is like you are walking through a swamp: one small step off the narrow path and you are sucked down into a morass of underlying technical weaknesses. Get me out of here.

Wordpress just has to be the easiest noob friendly blogging cms you could use. you don't need to know code, all you need to know is to read (and copy-paste) stuff. most of the tasks can be done automatically by Wordpress in just a few click, including updating itself.

It is hands-down the best blogging cms that there is. I feel like they really took time to make it usable for everyone who wants to create their own blog sites and be free from hosted blogs.

Most of the things you need to do can be done within wordpress alone, and for anything else that need to be done outside of wordpress' own interface are for advanced users.

there are a few things it might lack but I think the ease of use and all other great stuff cover up for that, including the very vast number of plugins and themes ready at your disposal without even using ftp.

Wordpress is an excellent blogging platform and for that I give it 5 stars.

It is NOT a robust CMS, like Drupal and Joomla. For many, this will not matter because their needs will not exceed it's capabilities. For developers in search of an extensible, open source, framework on which to build web applications, you may have to look elsewhere (I'm partial to Joomla...)

The only problem wordpress have: not very optimized source. If not that, it would be an ideal platform for everything :)
Nothing is better than wordpress. It is _secure_, _stable_ and has lots of extensions. And very easy API to write own plugins for it. I really enjoy it's simplicity and stability.

My blog was online in less than 15 minutes with WordPress. It is so easy to find themes, support, and additions.

word press is the best. i have been devloping for over 15 years now and i can set up a wordpress in minutes, skin it in no time and one of the berst features, i barely have to even show the least net savvy folks how easy it is to maintain because the interface is so intuitive. basically you show them the difference between a page and a post and voila!
well

Best CMS system, and i think its time to call this CMS not blogging engine. Everything is strait forward, unbelievable user friendly and easy to use. U dont have to go wandering with tons of different menus to get things done :)

"the future of wordpres is very clean- it's going to be Number One platfom!"
